Lauren Brown is a Jamaican-American author, artist and entrepreneur best known for her action-adventure novels, the Raif and Rose series. Brown is co-founder of the groundbreaking artificial intelligence company, Arghon. Lauren published her debut novel, Raif and Rose: The Death Letter, in 2012, at the age of twenty.

During her time at university, Lauren studied abroad in Nantes, France, where she focused on French language and literature. She graduated from George Washington University in the District of Colombia with a bachelor’s in business administration, with a focus in Marketing in 2014.

Following the completion of her degree, Lauren joined her father in co-founding their family’s artificial intelligence business, Arghon Inc. Correspondingly, Brown’s co-contributions have brought the company significant mainstream exposure, including a feature article for Forbes and inclusion in SXSW’s tech event lineup as a featured presenting company. Brown’s knack for creative thinking and strategy continues to expand Arghon’s ventures.

Equally, Lauren pursues broader projects in publishing and entertainment. She is the founder of Cynth Publishing and Cynth Media, independent publishing and media production companies founded in 2012 and 2019, respectively. Brown continues to pioneer new platforms.

Lauren Brown loves the written, musical, and visual arts. In 2018, Lauren released Cold Kingdom, a cinematic alt-pop mini-album, formerly under the stage name, Loren, on all major streaming platforms. Brown went on to perform the album’s debut singles, ‘Cold Kingdom‘ and ‘Crystals’, in venues across New York City, with her band, over the next year. Brown continues to write songs and collaborate with other artists in her field. Additionally, Lauren’s artwork illustrates her love for the visual arts. Her paintings and drawings can be seen on her social media and online.

The 2019 release of Brown’s second book, Raif and Rose: World on Fire, saw Lauren delve into deeper themes and causes near to her heart. Further, Brown’s inclusion of more global concerns, like environmental preservation, equity, and power, highlight a strong understanding of key issues facing our world. Brown held a special December launch event at Sister’s Uptown Bookstore in Harlem, New York, For the novel’s release. The event was held to support small independent bookstores in a valued NYC community. Lauren continues to author and develop new works for release in the coming years.

Lauren has demonstrated a commitment to positive impact through philanthropic causes. A proponent of philanthropic work, Brown has served her community at the local and international level. The causes she supports include and are not limited to addressing and ending hunger, increasing access to the arts as therapy and expression, and access to quality STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) education for all. Brown’s efforts emphasize participation in one’s community, local and global. Accordingly, Lauren gets involved: volunteering at food pantries in her neighborhood and county, spearheading educational partnerships, and supporting international organizations seeking to break cycles of poverty. Lauren continues to expand her philanthropic efforts, backed by the belief that all people deserve an excellent quality of life.
